The Harley Gallery Shop sells handmade craft, books and design-led gifts online and instore in rural Nottinghamshire.
We are known for our inspiring range of contemporary craft and stock a wide range of makers - from collectable leading names to exciting emerging artists.
At The Harley, we believe that art makes life better. Art can give so much enjoyment, both in making and looking, and it also helps us understand ourselves and others better.
Our shop helps you to enrich your world with art, handmade craft and design-led products. Plus, by providing a retail outlet for craftspeople, we support their practice and help continue the great tradition of handmade craft.
Contemporary craft has a history. A handmade item on sale in The Harley Gallery Shop has evolved from the same roots as its 200-year-old counterpart in The Portland Collection. Most importantly it can give us the same pleasure.
Visit us in Nottinghamshire to see our full product range in our award-winning shop.
The Harley Gallery Shop can be found just 20 minutes from the A1 and M1, between Nottingham and Sheffield on the historic Welbeck estate. We have plentiful free parking and the shop is spacious and covid-secure.
Our staff are on hand to assist you and will be happy to check our stock room or contact artists on your behalf to help you find the perfect piece.
And don't worry - if you get home and wish that you had bought something and can't find it here in the online shop, we will be more than happy to help by phone or email.
See our Personal Shopping page for information about buying by email or phone.
While you are visiting, make sure to explore The Harley Gallery and The Portland Collection. Both galleries are free to enter, and you can see exhibitions from leading contemporary visual artists and works from the amazing aristocratic Portland Collection of art.
Also on site are a farm shop, café, garden centre and countryside walks.
We are open 10 am - 4 pm, Tuesday - Sunday.
About The Harley
The store is located in The Harley Gallery, which exhibits modern and contemporary art, and is next door to The Portland Collection museum of art.
Both of these spaces are run by The Harley Foundation, a charitable trust. The Foundation's mission is to create spaces where the imagination can flourish. Ivy, Duchess of Portland set up the Foundation in 1978 and it is still based on the historic ducal estate of Welbeck which has been home to the Dukes of Portland and their families since 1607. In all our work we celebrate the handmade and encourage the enjoyment of the visual arts.
All profits from The Harley Gallery Shop support the work of The Harley Foundation, which maintains free admission to our galleries and funds a wide variety of educational activities and events.
