Tuesdays during August
10.00am - 12.00noon and 1.00pm - 3.00pm
The Harley Education Studio
This summer children aged 5 to 12 are invited to join us at The Harley for creative workshops, which are taking place every Tuesday in August.
There's a different theme everyday, and different activities in the morning and in the afternoon. Children can come along for one session or both for a full day of fun.
We advise that children come in clothes that you don't mind getting messy, and we suggest that they bring an apron or old shirt to protect their clothes.
You can book sessions singly, or why not block book and get your Tuesdays sorted for the summer?
Tuesday 2nd August - Nature
AM - We will be exploring and making living sculptures using that you will be able to take with you and grow at home.
PM – Have a go at the ancient Japanese printing method of Hapazome, to decorate a tote bag or bunting. You will also have a go at making your own nature bug buddy.
Tuesday 9th August - Recycled Materials

PM - Calling all budding architects! In this session we'll be making cardboard buildings to create a crafted city scape.
Tuesday 16th August - Colour
The day will be filled with all things colourful. We will be dripping, scraping, spinning and printing. Experimenting with colour combinations, and different ways to make art, but generally getting messy. Please wear appropriate clothing.
Tuesday 23rd August - Ceramics
AM - Decorate a ready-made pottery blank in this paint a pot session. Your item will then be professionally glazed and fired and will be ready to collect after one week.
PM - Get hands on with clay and learn how to make pinch pots. A session of squidging, shaping and sculpting.
Sessions cost £12.50 per session per child, or book both a morning and an afternoon for £20 (saving £5).
Children staying all day will have a one hour supervised lunch break. Please provide a packed lunch for your child.
Drinks will be available for everyone throughout the day.
Parents do not need to stay with their children for these sessions - but if you would like to stay be prepared to get messy!
We recommend that these sessions are best suited to children ages 5 to 12, although older siblings are quite welcome to join in the fun too.
