Wednesday 16th February and Wednesday 23rd February
11 am (5-8 year-olds) and 2 pm (9-12 year-olds)
The Portland Collection
The Portland Collection houses some amazing objects and pieces of art amassed by an aristocratic family over the course of 400 years of history.
During February half term, we are inviting families to come and help us retell the story of the collection in exciting and imaginative ways as part of our brand new 1-hour storytelling workshops aimed at children aged 5-12.
JOIN THE STORY
Imagine that our historical records have mysteriously vanished for 48 hours. We will need your family’s help to rewrite the history books and fill in the blanks!
Participants will draw inspiration from a selection of paintings and objects whilst being supported through a series of creative writing challenges.
We can’t wait to see the tales you come up with!
Following the workshop, all children will receive their own bespoke Portland Collection guide booklets featuring the stories they created. These will be ready half an hour after the end of the session and will be accompanied by original illustrations inspired by their words.
Our story telling workshops cost £5 per child.
You can choose between morning sessions suitable for 5-8 year olds or afternoon sessions suitable for 9-12 year olds.
If you wish to book for siblings who cross these different age groups, please feel welcome to book onto the session that you feel most appropriate.
